I think my footy friends would enjoy this bit from comedian James Adomian

I like the idea of temporary architecture, especially when serving large crowds. Architecture author Philip Jodidio wrote a book called “Temporary Architecture.” He covers the reasons why there is a need for short-term buildings, with the most obvious being housing for people after a natural disaster. This stadium idea is a great way to educate the public on simple solutions.

A new “modular and temporary” soccer stadium planned for central Tampa:
VSI intends to build a modular stadium (circa 6-8,000 seats) in central Tampa for the purpose of playing all VSI Tampa Bay Flames USL Pro League home matches, commencing 2013 season. The facility will remain in situ until the completion of the Flames main stadium (28,888 seats), again in central Tampa and which is scheduled for early 2016.
The Flames are currently in detailed discussion with NUSSLI a leading global operating supplier in the field of temporary and modular constructions for the purpose of designing and building its modular stadium.

But why is a third tier soccer team in Tampa building a 28,888 capacity stadium? Even if they have MLS aspirations, Tampa isn’t the best sports town. Their successful, Major League Baseball team can’t pull a crowd like that. And Tampa has had an MLS team that ended up being shut down by the league.

Indoors training when a snow storm came out this week.

Luckily, looks like it paid off with a win in the final match of the season :)

So we kinda knew that Seattle’s new kits would look ridiculous…this is worse than anticipated!

Anyone have a craving for tropical Skittles?

Weird Science: For a highly symmetrical butt, you might want to consider soccer instead of tennis
I’ve been playing soccer for ages. I wonder where my butt falls on the symmetry scale? It’s always felt pretty “balanced” to me. Hmmm …
